LIANG AND THE MAGIC PAINTBRUSH:

Created and performed by Gemma Khawaja

Directed by Zannie Fraser and Joy Haynes

Liang dreams of being a painter but is too poor to buy himself a paintbrush. Join him on a magical adventure to find out if dreams can come true.

An inventive and gentle show with something in it for all the family. Crooked Timber Theatre combine puppets, origami, live painting and video images to bring this well loved Chinese tale to life.

“Liang And The Magic Paintbrush, is a charming production which, through delicate shadow theatre and puppetry, sensitively brings to vivid life this traditional Chinese story”

Simon Hart: Artistic Director, Puppet Animation Festival Scotland

“The show clearly captivated the children and the adults were appreciative too. The mix of shadow, film and puppets worked well and the innovative use of water as a paint creating transparency on the screen was as magic as the paintbrush in the title.

The show I saw had 2-70 year olds in the audience and it worked for them all”

Ian Woods: General Manager, Norwich Puppet Theatre

“A sweet & inventive show with something in it for all the family”

Natalie Jode: Chief Executive, Creative Arts East

RUNNING TIME:  45 MINS + optional time to look at the puppets and draw pictures afterwards

MAX AUDIENCE: 150 if raked seating. 120 without raked seating.
